@Edmund - thanks for your response. I had heard about the issue before, but was not aware that it was a problem with Reason and Logic. I would ask the audio studio if they have any preference for Reason, as I'm sure you'd agree that we're much better off if your product is the best for the job. I mean, would you buy software that you were forced to use if it were not the best you could use? I know I wouldn't. So I'm not entirely sure how this issue is relevant here, but I will make sure to pass it on to the guys in the studio. Best Wishes,
Regards,
John
I'm building a DAW-like utility for music production... I'm a novice at VST plugins, programming etc, but I've managed to build a working GUI-based audio application... it's not as advanced as Reason, but its got a basic audio signal analyzer, time/frequency display, basic mixers and effects/plugins, 64bit and 32bit versions... here's a screenshot:
As with Reason 6, most of the Reason 5 download packages are a zip file containing the Reason 6 installer and Reason 5 plus a few extra sounds. To use Reason 5 with Reason 6, simply unzip the package and run the Reason 6 installer.
Although the Reason 5 downloads are no longer available via the Reason 6 web site, you can still download them from the Reason download page on the Reason web site. (Reason 5 will still work with Reason 6, but many of the built-in Reason 5 instruments don't work with Reason 6 - primarily the MIDI instruments.)
The Reason 5 sound library is still available for purchase on the Reason web site. Version 6 only contains some of the Reason 5 sounds - the main Reason 6 sound library was built from scratch, using only the Reason 5 sounds.
